What does Catholic Charities do?
Catholic Charities serves those most in need. We help individuals and families reach their full potential as we call for justice in the community. The mission of Catholic Charities is as old as the Catholic Church itself. For 2,000 years, Catholics have walked with the poor, the marginalized and the voiceless. Catholic Charities is rooted in the traditions, values and social teachings of the Catholic Church.
How is Catholic Charities related to the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis?
Catholic Charities is the human-services arm of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis, but is structured as a separate 501(c)(3), nonprofit corporation. Catholic Charities’ programs receive funding from the Annual Catholic Appeal, totaling approximately 10 cents of every dollar raised through the campaign. In total, the Archdiocese provides funding for 5% of Catholic Charities $34 million operating budget. The generosity of other private charitable contributors provides for more than 30% of the agency's budget.
Is Catholic Charities part of a national organization?
Catholic Charities of St. Paul and Minneapolis is a member and affiliate organization of Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA), one of the largest private networks of social service providers in the country. Each affiliate organization of CCUSA has its own mission statement and provides programs and services to respond to the specific social needs in its particular region.
Who does Catholic Charities serve?
Catholic Charities serves men, women, families and children in the 12-county metropolitan area of Minneapolis and St. Paul, regardless of faith. We provide children's, family, housing and emergency services.

How is the money used?
In the 2007 fiscal year, our operating budget was $32.4 million. The majority of funding is allocated to the agency's four main program areas: Children's Services (30%), Family Services (13%), Housing and Emergency Services (29%) and Advocacy (1%).
