| Catholic Charities Helps Out at Project Homeless Connect Catholic Charities took part in one of the largest and most comprehensive homeless-support events in the country May 11. Advocates from Exodus Residence, Hope Street for Runaway and Homeless Youth and Housing First represented Catholic Charities at the Minneapolis/Hennepin County Project Homeless Connect. The one-day event held at the Minneapolis Convention Center allowed people experiencing homelessness to access multiple services in one place.
About 1,400 volunteers and 400 service providers helped 1,500 clients find the services they needed at the event. Six people found housing the day of the event, 112 people completed housing applications and 550 people received free state IDs and/or birth certificates. The next Project Homeless Connect event will be held at the Minneapolis Convention Center Dec. 7. Read Catholic Charities' blog
